Obviously, I didn't intend to tell everyone how much I was making. And, honestly, I'm quite surprised that anyone receiving that information from a clearly confused and elderly woman would make that announcement.
— Amy

"Salary" is the fifteenth episode of Season Four of Superstore, and the sixty-ninth episode of the show overall.

Amy finds herself at odds with her coworkers when some salary numbers get leaked, while Dina worries that Jonah is coming between her and Amy. Mateo tries to give himself a promotion, and Garrett attempts to sabotage Glenn's positive attitude.

I don't think Amy see me as a leader.

In the Break Room, Amy gives the morning announcements on her first day as manager until interrupted by Glenn, who has to be reminded that he's not manager anymore. He gives her announcement notes which includes a bad pun on a foot found in the parking lot. In Amy's office, Jonah unsuccessfully tries to get Amy excited about her promotion. In the store, Mateo manipulates Cheyenne into agreeing that he'd be the best candidate to replace Amy as floor supervisor. She suggests that he needs to act like he has the position in order to get it. In a vintage Cloud 9 uniform, Glenn asks Justine, Marcus and Garrett what he should work on. Telling him to clean up a disgusting mess, he leaves cheerfully which Garrett can't believe.

I'm in a good mood!

In Amy's office, Dina asks Amy for money to upgrade the store security system. Asking for Jonah's opinion, he advises waiting. When Amy accepts his advice, Dina glares at Jonah and sarcastically thanks him. Mateo approaches Sandra and asks her to straighten out the linen section. She's starts to question who asked him to tell her to, but Mateo stares her down until she complies. On the phone with corporate in her office, Amy is told she can hire an assistant. When she hears her salary will be $109,000 and she'll get a bonus and perks, she's surprised and ecstatic. Corporate indicates they'll fax over a contract for her to sign. A beaming Amy enters the store, high-fives Jennifer, pays Sarah and Brett compliments and gives Sayid an extra break. (♫ Ibibio Sound Machine - The Talking Fish ♫) She tells everyone she bought donuts which Cheyenne thinks Amy wants to keep for herself.

Stacking up the canned foods...

Approaching Jonah, Dina threatens to get Amy to break up with him if he doesn't keep his opinions to himself when she's asking Amy for something. Jonah won't give in and dares her to try and break him and Amy up. Mateo addresses a group of staff including, Ted, Taylor, Roxy, Sayid and Marcus and gives them assignments. When Sayid questions his authority, Mateo bluffs that he's been given it which Marcus backs him up on. Now that Amy is manager, Dina questions Jonah's suitable to be her boyfriend which Amy dismisses. Seeing Myrtle eating ketchup packets at Coffee & Bakery, Amy offers her a job as her assistant which Myrtle enthusiastically accepts. Singing and stacking cans, Glenn's mood isn't affected when a thoughtless buffoon knocks down the cans. Garrett tries to make Glenn see being a floor worker is a bad job to which Glenn counters there are no bad jobs if one's attitude is great.

I'm sorry.

In Amy's office, Jonah learns that Myrtle has been made her assistant. Dispatching Myrtle to give an announcement to Garrett, Amy effuses about her salary and asks Jonah to pass the contract corporate faxed over and says he can take a look at it. When he indicates the papers are the announcements, Amy realizes Myrtle took her contract to Garrett. Running into the store, she finds Garrett announcing her salary over the P.A. to the staff's astonishment. In the Break Room, Amy apologizes and Mateo tries to pass himself off as a floor supervisor. Dina tries to cause a problem between Amy and Jonah by saying him making less money than Amy is emasculating. Marcus reveals that he makes more than Amy and it's discovered he's been being paid ten times his hourly wage due to an error.

No Justine, it's not funny!

Glenn rues that he had to let people go over the mistake. Amy tells Marcus he will have to give the over payments back which Cheyenne thinks goes to Amy. A goat eats flowers in a display. (♫ Matchbox Twenty - Unwell ♫) At Coffee & Bakery, Glenn makes light of getting mayo on his shirt while cleaning up. While Justine laughs, Garrett tries to make Glenn angry by pointing out all the money he's losing by not being manager anymore. Glenn doesn't care and his continued quips frustrate Garrett and make Justine laugh so hard she pees her pants. Disguising his voice, Mateo calls himself to customer service and calls himself a floor supervisor.

You're the manager, not some vomit girl.

With Dina, Amy sees Sandra having a tough time cleaning up vomit and offers to help. Cheyenne interrupts with a gift basket from corporate and news that Amy's expensive corporate car has arrived, which Sayid can't believe. Awkwardly, Amy leaves to sign for the car. Incredulous with Marcus' impoverished lifestyle despite the money he has been making, Jonah is interrupted by an attractive woman, Joelle, who cites an author Jonah likes and then offers to have sex with him. Confronting Dina that she paid Joelle to seduce and record Jonah having sex in order to give the recording to Amy, Dina critisizes Joelle's suitability for the job and tells her to help out in the store. At checkout, Cheyenne asks Amy for permission for a customer to use an unsuitable card to pay for diapers.

Do you like frozen treats?

Amy says the card can't be used and trying to be understanding, causes confusion which the customer takes that Amy will pay for the diapers herself. Amy states she's not offering to pay for the customer's diapers which brings a wry face from Cheyenne after she states how much Amy makes. Feeling guilty, Amy gives in and the customer takes advantage and makes Amy pay for candy as well. Happily, Glenn relates a disgusting clean-up job to Garrett who insists that working in the store is horrible and Glenn will never convince him otherwise. Myrtle encounters the store greeter hologram of herself and does what the hologram says. Mateo puts a picture of himself as floor supervisor on the wall by customer service. In Amy's office, Jonah finds Amy discouraged over the events of the day. Saying she needs a drink, Jonah points out that she's the boss and they leave for one.
